Senior Alexis Morton was named Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, according to a March 9 announcement. Morton earned the honor after her performance in a recent game where she helped lead her team to victory.
The recognition comes after Morton scored three goals and provided eight assists in a 15-6 win over VCU on Saturday. Her total of 11 points in the game tied the program’s single-game record for both points and assists.
Morton is now only the fourth player in program history to reach 11 points in a single game, and just the second to record eight assists. The last Richmond Spider to achieve an 11-point game was Kim Egizi against George Mason in 2018, followed by Rachel Ziemba against George Mason in 2021.
This achievement highlights Morton’s continued impact on her team and her place among some of the top performers in program history. The team’s next games will provide further opportunities for Morton and her teammates to build on this success.
