Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, used her social media platform this week to address a range of national and local issues as 2025 comes to a close.
On December 12, McClellan commented on former President Donald Trump’s campaign promises regarding affordability, writing: “Trump won in 2024 by promising affordability. Now, he mocks the concept as a Democratic con job. The data proves him wrong. Costs keep rising, and families struggle to keep up.”
The following day, December 13, she reflected on recent legislative actions affecting servicemembers and health care: “As 2025 winds to a close, Congress took a step forward to improve quality of life for our servicemembers, but failed to address the looming health care crisis facing 22 million Americans. Keep watching for some highlights.”
Also on December 13, McClellan extended congratulations to graduates from two Virginia universities: “Congratulations to the graduating classes at @VCU and @VSU_1882! Excited to see where you go and what you do next.”
Jennifer McClellan has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing Donald McEachin. Before her current role, she was a member of both the Virginia House of Delegates and the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg in 1972 and now residing in Richmond, McClellan holds degrees from the University of Richmond (BA) and the University of Virginia (JD).
