Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared several updates on her social media account, touching on local traditions and historical milestones.
On February 2, 2026, McClellan posted about Groundhog Day celebrations in Virginia: “Happy Groundhog Day! Punxsutawney Phil may have the notoriety, but Virginia’s own Chesapeake Chuck and his furry friends at @VLMuseum have the variety! While Chesapeake Chuck makes the call on the weather, box turtles predict Oscar winners and deer speculate on the Super Bowl.” (posted February 2, 2026).
Later that day, she marked a significant event in civil rights history with another post: “On February 2nd, 1959, Lance Newman, Michael Jones, Ronald Deskind and Gloria Thompson entered Stratford Junior High School in Arlington County to become the first students to desegregate a Virginia public school. #BHM2026” (posted February 2, 2026).
The following day she encouraged followers to view an interview by posting: “Watch the full interview here: https://t.co/1K4dOZEdHX” (posted February 3, 2026).
