Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared updates and opinions on her official X (formerly Twitter) account regarding education policy and her ongoing engagement with constituents.

The following day, August 23, she provided an update about the start of the school year and her continued outreach efforts: “This week, students went back to school and I continued meeting with constituents and Virginia organizations to discuss what’s happening on the Hill. On August 24, McClellan commented on recent actions by the Trump Administration regarding educational guidance for English learners: “By stripping away guidance to help schools accommodate English learners, the Trump Administration yet again signals that it will not protect the civil rights of all students. Jennifer McClellan has served as representative for Virginia’s 4th district since replacing Donald McEachin in 2023. She previously held seats in both the Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2017 and the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg in 1972 and currently residing in Richmond, McClellan holds a BA from the University of Richmond (1994) and a JD from the University of Virginia (1997).
