Delegate Mike Cherry, a Republican representing Virginia’s 74th House district, recently shared updates and personal milestones through a series of posts on his social media account.

On May 10, Cherry highlighted his participation in a local event, stating, “Fantastic weather for the 50th Annual Fort Clifton Festival today! Great to see so many friends and neighbors.”

Addressing legislative concerns on May 11, Cherry drew attention to the ongoing state budget impasse: “The General Assembly adjourned March 14 without a state budget. Nearly two months later, there’s still no state budget. School divisions are now delaying teacher contract renewals because they do not know what their state funding levels will be.”

On May 13, Cherry acknowledged recognition from an advocacy group with the statement: “Honored to receive the Education Champion Award this evening from @AFPVA! “

Cherry was elected in 2024 to represent Virginia’s 74th House district after succeeding Lamont Bagby.
