Two days later, on May 21, 2026, he recognized a notable accomplishment in sustainable agriculture within his district. Cherry wrote: “Congratulations to Ashton Creek Vineyard in Chester on being the first vineyard in Virginia to receive the Regenerative Farming Pilot Program certification from the USDA. We are proud of your continued efforts in sustainable farming practices.”

Most recently, on May 22, 2026, Cherry celebrated the start of baseball season by participating in a local event. He shared: “It’s opening night for the Tri-City Chili Peppers! Glad to kick off another season of baseball by throwing tonight’s first pitch. Looking forward to a winning season this summer!”

Cherry was elected to the Virginia State House in 2024 after replacing Lamont Bagby as representative for the state’s 74th House district.
