Delegate Kim Taylor participated in the launch of Civica’s fast-acting insulin program at its Petersburg facility. The event marked a significant step for Civica, which has been part of Petersburg’s pharmaceutical sector since 2020. “Civica is more than just a pharmaceutical manufacturer – it’s a community partner and an economic driver,” Delegate Taylor said. She highlighted the company’s role in creating local jobs and its commitment to hiring from within the community.
The new insulin program is aligned with Civica’s mission to provide affordable access to essential medications. This initiative is supported by a $3 million investment from the Commonwealth, contributing to a total development effort of $20 million. “This work is personal for many families who rely on insulin to live full and healthy lives,” Taylor remarked.
Taylor also mentioned her support in securing funding for the Poor Creek Pump Station, an infrastructure project that aids initiatives like Civica’s. Delegate Kim Taylor represents Virginia’s 82nd House District and resides in Dinwiddie with her family.
