Henrico County Government announced a series of board-approved amendments and ordinance changes on August 13, 2025, affecting local tax filings, clean energy financing programs, and zoning regulations.
On August 13, the county posted that “The Board approved an amendment to county code to allow filing of hotel tax returns solely by designated intermediaries if those entities handle all sales of the accommodations.” On the same date, Henrico County Government reported another update: “The Board approved ordinance changes to comply with state law regarding Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) Financing Program. The changes update the list of eligible properties & property owners for the loan program & extend the time to apply.”
Later that evening, further details were shared about zoning and permitted business uses in specific corridors: “Expanded areas for the HIP are along Mechanicsville Tpke, Patterson Ave, Staples Mill Rd, W. Henrico County serves a diverse population through its public institutions. The Henrico County Public Schools District enrolled 50,464 students during the 2023-24 school year according to data from the Virginia Department of Education (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Deep Run High School recorded the highest enrollment among county schools with 2,039 students that year. Black students comprised 35.7% of district enrollment—the largest ethnic group—while white students made up nearly one-third at 31.9%. Total student enrollment saw a slight increase from the previous year.
