Henrico County Government recently communicated several updates through their official Twitter account. These updates pertain to regulatory changes, a joint meeting between county boards, and traffic information affecting the region.

On June 11, 2025, the Henrico Board of Supervisors approved new regulations concerning data centers. According to the tweet, “The Henrico Board of Supervisors has approved new regulations for data centers. Varina Supervisor Tyrone Nelson & County Attorney Andrew Newby explain the more restrictive regulations & how they will impact the review of future projects.” This development is aimed at introducing more restrictive guidelines that will influence the assessment of upcoming projects in the area.

Later on June 11, another update was posted regarding a collaborative effort between neighboring counties. The tweet stated that “The Boards of Supervisors from Henrico & Hanover will hold a joint meeting this afternoon to discuss regional cooperation & public water service.” This meeting commenced at 2:30 p.m., with provisions made for public access via livestream.

A traffic alert was issued on June 11 concerning road closures for utility work. The tweet warned that “All westbound lanes of Bethlehem Rd between Roux St and Staples Mill Rd will be closed again overnight Wed., June 11 for gas utility installation.” The closure spanned from 7 p.m. on Wednesday until 6 a.m. on Thursday.

In addition to these updates, it is noteworthy that Henrico County Public Schools District enrolled 50,464 students during the 2023-24 school year, making it an essential part of community infrastructure in conjunction with ongoing local developments and planning initiatives.
