Henrico County Government recently shared updates on local events and achievements through their social media platform. These posts highlight the county’s efforts in cultural celebration and public service excellence.
On June 16, 2025, Henrico County Government announced that “The VA250 Mobile Museum Experience will visit Dorey Park on Friday & Saturday to highlight Virginia’s role in the birth of the nation.” This interactive museum is set to coincide with Henrico’s annual Juneteenth celebration, providing an educational experience about Virginia’s historical significance.
Later that day, another post from Henrico County Government quoted County Manager John Vithoulkas regarding a recent accolade received by the county. Vithoulkas stated, “The award from the American Water Works Association is … a credit to the professionalism & dedication of our entire Public Utilities team [& reflects] the standard of public water service that we’re working to ensure for every Henrico resident.”
Additionally, Henrico County was recognized for its water quality. On June 16, 2025, it was announced that “Henrico won the Best of the Best Water Taste Test award from @awwa.” This recognition underscores the county’s commitment to maintaining high standards in public utilities.
In related community news, Henrico County Public Schools District enrolled 50,464 students during the 2023-24 school year. Black students represented the largest ethnic group within this enrollment. Deep Run High School had the highest number of students among all schools in the district during this period.
