Henrico County Government announced a series of actions taken during a recent Board meeting, including the approval of property measures and opportunities for public participation.
On August 26, 2025, Henrico County Government reported that “Following a public hearing, the Board has approved an ordinance vacating a portion of drainage & utility easement at 4411 Sarellen Road. The property owners requested the action to accommodate expansion of a warehouse; county facilities are not needed in the vacated area.”
Shortly after, the county shared information about public engagement in the meeting: “The meeting has advanced to the public comments portion of the agenda. Individuals watching remotely on WebEx can participate: https://t.co/E7ShnbXisu” (August 26, 2025).
Later in the evening, another resolution was approved concerning local infrastructure. According to Henrico County Government’s update on August 26, 2025: “Moving to the general agenda, the Board has approved a resolution acquiring undeveloped property at 3809 Francistown Road to address drainage issues in the area. The county paid $2,990 for the property.”
Henrico County is home to a single public school district which enrolled over 50,000 students during the 2023-24 academic year. Deep Run High School recorded the highest enrollment among its schools with more than 2,000 students. Black students made up nearly 36% of total enrollment during that period, making them the largest ethnic group in Henrico County schools. Overall student numbers saw a slight increase from previous years.
