Henrico County Government recently shared several updates and acknowledgments on its official social media platform, highlighting the contributions of county mentors, the impact of student interns in the workplace, and a local road closure for utility work. The posts reflect ongoing community engagement and operational updates relevant to residents.
On July 14, 2025, Henrico County Government encouraged the public to recognize the efforts of local mentors by stating, “Please join us in congratulating the county mentors who make this partnership possible!”.
In another post from July 14, 2025, Henrico Internship Program Coordinator Debbie Lumpkin commented on the positive influence of student interns. Lumpkin said when accepting an award, “The students bring a ray of sunshine to the workplace with their curiosity, new ideas, and fresh approaches…. and let’s not forget about their tech-savvy skills!”.
Later that day, Henrico County Government issued a notice regarding traffic disruptions: “Libbie Avenue is closed between Indigo and Bethlehem roads through 4 p.m. Friday, July 18 for utility work. A detour is using Argus Lane, Beacon Lane and Bethlehem.”
According to recent data from the Virginia Department of Education, Henrico County Public Schools District enrolled more than 50,000 students during the 2023-24 school year. Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among high schools with over 2,000 students. Black students represented the largest ethnic group in Henrico County schools at nearly 36% of total enrollment.
