At 22:18 UTC, Henrico County Government announced, “The Board now is holding a public hearing for a rezoning case. The public hearing can be viewed via the livestream at https://t.co/fJzlnqicRX”. Later in the evening, at 23:25 UTC, Henrico County Government reported that “Following a public hearing, the Board has approved a resolution authorizing submission of the county’s five-year consolidated plan and fiscal year 2025-26 action plan to the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.”

Henrico County serves as home to one school district—Henrico County Public Schools—which enrolled over 50,000 students during the 2023-24 academic year (source). The district’s enrollment increased slightly from the previous year (source). Deep Run High School had the highest enrollment among high schools with more than 2,000 students (source). Black students represented the largest ethnic group in county schools during that period (source).

The Board’s decision to approve and submit long-term planning documents follows established procedures for local governments seeking federal funding through programs administered by agencies such as HUD.
