She stated: “On #WorldCancerDay, we remember those who lost their lives to cancer, honor survivors and those undergoing treatment, and thank the health care providers and researchers fighting for a world free from this horrible disease.

That afternoon, McClellan addressed disparities in public health outcomes linked to energy infrastructure. Jennifer McClellan has served in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Donald McEachin. Before her current role in Washington D.C., she represented constituents in both the Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2017 and later in the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg in 1972 and currently residing in Richmond at age 50, McClellan is an alumna of both the University of Richmond (BA) and University of Virginia School of Law (JD).
