Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing legislative priorities and historical milestones.
On April 2, 2026, McClellan criticized Congressional Republicans for prioritizing border security funding while other federal agencies remain unfunded. The following day, McClellan marked the anniversary of Jeannette Rankin’s historic swearing-in as the first female member of Congress. Jennifer McClellan began representing Virginia’s 4th District in Congress in 2023 after serving in both chambers of Virginia’s legislature.[1] She succeeded Donald McEachin following his passing.[1] Born in Petersburg in 1972,[3] McClellan is an alumna of both the University of Richmond (BA) and University of Virginia (JD).[4]
