Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on her recent legislative activities and community engagement through a series of posts on social media this week.
On December 3, 2025, McClellan highlighted her participation in a Congressional briefing with March of Dimes regarding their latest findings on infant and maternal health. She wrote, “This morning, I joined @MarchofDimes for a Congressional briefing on their 2025 Report Card on the state of infant and maternal health. For the fourth year in a row, the U.S. received a D+ with a preterm birth rate of 10.4% that heightens mortality risk for moms and babies.”
Later that day, she addressed broadband access concerns amid ongoing policy debates about technology deployment priorities. On December 3, 2025, McClellan posted: “All communities regardless of zip code deserve access to reliable broadband today and in the future.
As the Trump Administration seeks to prioritize lowest-cost technologies, I joined @EnergyCommerce Democrats to ensure federally funded broadband deployment projects don’t leave”
The following day, December 4, she recognized Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity’s anniversary by stating: “Happy 119th Founders’ Day to the men of @apa1906NETwork!”
Jennifer McClellan began serving in Congress in 2023 after succeeding Donald McEachin as representative for Virginia’s 4th district. Before her congressional tenure, she served in both the Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2017 and later in the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg in 1972 and currently residing in Richmond at age 50, McClellan holds degrees from the University of Richmond (BA) and University of Virginia (JD).
