Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, used her Twitter account on May 14, 2026, to discuss energy policy and highlight her recent participation in an Energy Subcommittee hearing.

On May 14, McClellan shared a link inviting followers to listen to a broader conversation: “Listen to our full conversation here: https://t.co/RpmTxYhFlc” (posted at 14:12 UTC).

Later that day, she addressed national energy challenges in another tweet posted at 16:37 UTC. She wrote, “To meet exploding energy demand affordably, the U.S. must modernize its energy grid and permitting procedures.

At an Energy Subcommittee hearing, I focused on the need to strike the right balance between federal and state action to meet our electricity transmission needs. https://t.co/jMVkfxGZvt”

In a follow-up tweet posted at nearly the same time, McClellan provided access to her remarks from the hearing: “Watch my full remarks and questioning with @EnergyCommerce here: https://t.co/5CgkmGlCgr”.

Jennifer McClellan has served in Congress since replacing Donald McEachin in 2023 as representative for Virginia’s 4th district. Prior to joining Congress, she was a member of both the Virginia House of Delegates (2006–2017) and the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg in 1972 and currently residing in Richmond, McClellan is an alumna of the University of Richmond (BA) and holds a JD from the University of Virginia.
