Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to comment on NATO’s anniversary, current U.S. foreign policy, and the Easter holiday.
On April 5, 2026, McClellan marked the anniversary of NATO’s founding with a post highlighting its role in global security: “Since its founding through the North Atlantic Treaty 77 years ago today, NATO has been a lynchpin to collective security, deterring aggression and maintaining stability across Europe and North America. That’s why I sponsored a resolution to prohibit any president from https://t.co/j11YfclXfZ”.
Later that day, she posted a brief holiday message: “Happy Easter! https://t.co/gLORQ5ZWVu”.
On April 7, 2026, McClellan addressed recent statements by the President regarding Iran and broader threats in the Middle East: “After threatening war crimes against the Iranian people, the President of the United States now threatens “a whole civilization” with death. This will not stabilize an already volatile Middle East or keep Americans safe.

Jennifer McClellan began serving in Congress in 2023 after replacing Donald McEachin as representative for Virginia’s 4th district. She previously served in both chambers of Virginia’s legislature—the House of Delegates from 2006 to 2017 and then in the Senate. Born in Petersburg in 1972 and currently residing in Richmond at age 50, McClellan holds degrees from both the University of Richmond (BA) and University of Virginia (JD).
