Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has used her social media platform to address recent policy developments and invite constituents to participate in an upcoming tele-town hall.
On August 21, 2025, McClellan criticized the Trump Administration’s handling of costs associated with health insurance, food assistance, and energy. She stated: “The Trump Administration promised to lower costs, but their actions have only raised them. Now, the same people at risk of losing their health insurance and food assistance under the Big Ugly Law face higher energy costs because of these attacks on the Solar for All program.” On the same day, she shared a link for followers to view her complete remarks: “Watch my full remarks here: https://t.co/bRWnqIarid”
The following day, August 22, McClellan announced an upcoming tele-town hall scheduled for Monday at 6 PM. She encouraged constituents to RSVP in order to participate: “My tele-town hall is happening Monday at 6 PM! Don’t miss out on your chance to ask questions and hear from me about what’s happening in Washington.
You must RSVP to receive a call to join the town hall. Link below https://t.co/tBx1n6Dwyi“
Jennifer McClellan began serving in Congress in 2023 after succeeding Donald McEachin as representative of Virginia’s 4th district. Prior to her current role, she served in both the Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2017 and the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg in 1972 and currently residing in Richmond, McClellan holds a BA from the University of Richmond (1994) and a JD from the University of Virginia (1997).
