Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on October 10, 2025, addressing issues ranging from international peace efforts to local healthcare and economic concerns.

In her first post of the day, McClellan commented on ongoing tensions in an unspecified region: “I urge all parties to pursue a path toward peace and restraint and avoid any actions that may inflame tensions at this sensitive time. I remain cautiously optimistic that this agreement will allow for meaningful progress towards a lasting peace for everyone in the region.” (October 10, 2025)

Later, she highlighted the impact of federal health policy changes on Virginians. Referring to Lester Johnson, co-owner of Mama J’s restaurant in Richmond, McClellan wrote: “Richmond’s @MamaJsRVA co-owner Lester Johnson is one of 400,000 Virginians who purchases health insurance through the Virginia Insurance Marketplace. Without the Affordable Care Act enhanced premium tax credits, his premium will double in January. I’m fighting for Lester and https://t.co/xkWTRrTlIY” (October 10, 2025)

Addressing national economic policy later that evening, McClellan criticized former President Donald Trump’s trade policies: “Trump’s tariff policies are already crushing farmers, small businesses, consumers and more. Trump’s latest temper tantrum is about to make that worse.” (October 10, 2025)

Jennifer McClellan has served as a member of Congress since replacing Donald McEachin in 2023. Before her tenure in Congress began, she was a member of both the Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2017 and the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg in 1972 and now residing in Richmond, McClellan holds degrees from the University of Richmond (BA) and University of Virginia (JD).
