In one post from August 12, McClellan commented on the impact of recent tariffs: “As businesses shift the costs of Trump’s tariffs to consumers, U.S. consumer prices rose 2.7% in July from a year ago. That will likely get worse after new tariffs took effect this month.” She highlighted concerns about rising consumer prices and potential future increases due to additional tariffs.

Jennifer McClellan has served as a member of Congress for Virginia’s 4th District since 2023, succeeding Donald McEachin. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in both the Virginia House of Delegates and the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg, Virginia in 1972 and currently residing in Richmond, McClellan is an alumna of the University of Richmond and holds a law degree from the University of Virginia.
