On March 13, 2025, Congresswoman McClellan announced the opening of applications for the annual Congressional Art Competition for high school artists living in her district. She stated: “Calling all high school artists living in VA-04! Applications are now open for the annual Congressional Art Competition. Submit your original artwork by Tuesday, April 22nd for a chance to have it displayed in the U.S. Capitol!”

Later that day, McClellan addressed issues concerning federal workforce management during the Trump Administration. She expressed strong disapproval of employment practices that affected numerous federal employees, stating: “In its assault on our federal workforce, the Trump Administration summarily fired thousands of employees with less than a year of service in their current role, sometimes with little or no notice. This is cruel and unlawful.” She also commended Judge William Alsup for his actions related to this issue.
