Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed health insurance concerns and the response to the January 6 Capitol attack in a series of posts on her official account.
On August 10, 2025, McClellan warned that “Unless Congress acts, 100,000 Virginians could lose their health insurance due to costs as out-of-pocket premiums rise 30% to 50% when ACA enhanced tax credits expire at the end of this year. I’m cosponsoring legislation with @RepUnderwood to make those tax credits permanent.” She also shared a related link on the same day: “https://t.co/tzZiXvo9MX”.
Two days later, on August 12, McClellan commented on former President Donald Trump’s actions during the January 6 events: “As a violent mob stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, President Trump ignored repeated requests for federal National Guard assistance. His takeover of D.C. police is not about fighting crime. Crime is down. Read my statement with the National Capital Region Delegation.”
McClellan has represented Virginia’s 4th District since replacing Donald McEachin in 2023 and previously served in both chambers of Virginia’s state legislature (Fact 1; Fact 2). Born in Petersburg in 1972 and now residing in Richmond, she holds degrees from the University of Richmond and University of Virginia (Fact 3; Fact 4).
