Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to comment on energy policy and legislative developments.

On September 4, 2025, McClellan stated, “We cannot meet our exploding energy demands affordably without clean and renewable energy. Energy efficiency programs help reduce energy costs by helping reduce demand. House Republicans’ energy appropriations bill undermines these goals by slashing the Office of Energy https://t.co/c1aEAy6XNu”. In a follow-up post published at the same time, she encouraged viewers to “Watch my full floor speech here: https://t.co/oqXSUBtjrp”.

The day before, on September 3, 2025, McClellan posted a separate update which can be found at this link.

Jennifer McClellan began representing Virginia’s 4th district in Congress in 2023 after succeeding Donald McEachin. She previously served in both the Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2017 and the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg in 1972 and currently residing in Richmond, McClellan holds a BA from the University of Richmond and a JD from the University of Virginia.
