Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently taken to social media to express concerns about recent federal legislation and policies, including what she refers to as “Trump’s Big Ugly Bill” and immigration measures enacted by the Trump Administration.
On July 21, 2025, McClellan posted on her official account: “Now that it’s law, Trump’s Big Ugly Bill will devastate already underserved communities. I joined @TheRevAl on @PoliticsNation to discuss how this disproportionately impacts Black Americans. https://t.co/YsRZhYG0b5”.
Shortly after, she shared a link to a broader interview covering additional topics: “Watch the full interview on the Epstein scandal, Project 2025 and more here: https://t.co/6gTQMFEuFA”.
Later that day, McClellan addressed immigration policy under the previous administration: “The Trump Administration’s immigration policies are deeply unpopular and do not make our communities safe. I joined @OmarJimenez on @CNN to discuss the impact in my district and beyond. https://t.co/nSngIMkcg8”.
Jennifer McClellan has served in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Donald McEachin as representative for Virginia’s 4th District. Before her tenure in Congress, she was a member of both the Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2017 and the Virginia Senate (source). Born in Petersburg in 1972 and currently residing in Richmond, McClellan holds degrees from the University of Richmond (BA) and University of Virginia (JD).
