Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted her legislative efforts and discussed significant judicial decisions in a series of social media posts.

On May 18, 2026, McClellan wrote, “Children deserve the freedom to explore, learn and play independently. Parents must ensure they do so safely. I spoke with @DaveRess1 at @RTDNews about how my bipartisan bill with @RepBlakeMoore will help parents strike the right balance.” Later that day, she encouraged followers to view the full interview by posting, “Watch the full interview here: https://t.co/HRfzi5IPup” on May 18, 2026.

McClellan also addressed recent developments regarding voting rights. On May 18, 2026, she stated, “ICYMI: I joined @ryanobles to discuss SCOTUS’s gutting of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act in Louisiana v. Callais — and how it opened the door for Southern states to dilute Black voting strength.”

McClellan began serving in Congress in 2023 after succeeding Donald McEachin. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in both the Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2017 and the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg, Virginia in 1972 and currently residing in Richmond, McClellan holds a BA from the University of Richmond (1994) and a JD from the University of Virginia (1997).
