Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted health care and workers’ rights issues in a series of social media posts.
On August 12, 2025, McClellan shared her visit to a local health center, stating: “The Virginia League of @PPFA East End Health Center provides comprehensive reproductive, gender-affirming and primary care to a significant number of Medicaid and uninsured patients.
I toured the Health Center and spoke to their Medical Director about the impact of the Big Ugly https://t.co/zmwMQdwkvm“. The post underscores her engagement with healthcare providers serving vulnerable populations.
Later that day, she drew attention to federal policy affecting reproductive health funding, posting: “Learn more about the Trump Administration’s Title X funding freeze: https://t.co/xjakwQrTSD” on August 12, 2025.
On August 13, 2025, McClellan addressed workplace accommodations for breastfeeding employees during Breastfeeding Awareness Month. She wrote: “August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month! Did you know that under the federal and Virginia Pregnant Worker Fairness Act, employers must give breastfeeding workers reasonable accommodations to pump and store breast milk?
Make sure you know your breastfeeding rights. https://t.co/2Tuw23gGmR“.
Jennifer McClellan has served in Congress since replacing Donald McEachin in 2023. Before her current role in Washington D.C., she served in both the Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2017 and the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg in 1972 and now residing in Richmond, McClellan holds degrees from the University of Richmond (BA) and University of Virginia (JD).
