Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, used her social media platform this week to address concerns about the state of the nation’s health care system and actions taken by Republican lawmakers.

On October 16, 2025, McClellan posted, “Republican actions have placed our health care system in crisis. It’s about to get worse — because Republicans shut down the government rather than address looming ACA insurance premium hikes when enhanced tax credits expire.

I hosted a roundtable with @ProtectOurCare Virginia https://t.co/7NXTybdiRH“.

She followed up moments later with a link to a full discussion, stating on October 16, 2025, “Watch the full roundtable discussion here: https://t.co/ULoYXPnzDP”.

The next day, on October 17, 2025, McClellan shared another link without additional comment: “https://t.co/LjJ993TRNQ”.

Jennifer McClellan has served as the U.S. Representative for Virginia’s 4th District since 2023 after succeeding Donald McEachin. She previously held positions in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2017 and in the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg, Virginia in 1972 and currently residing in Richmond, McClellan holds a BA from the University of Richmond and a JD from the University of Virginia.
