Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted issues ranging from historical commemoration to concerns over immigration enforcement activities in her district.
On July 15, 2025, McClellan posted about the Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site in Richmond, stating: “In honor of her 161st birthday, today I highlight the Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site in Richmond for National Parks and Recreation Month. Maggie broke barriers as the first Black woman to charter and serve as president of a bank in the United States. McClellan has represented Virginia’s 4th District since 2023 after succeeding Donald McEachin. Prior to serving in Congress, she was a member of both the Virginia House of Delegates (2006–2017) and the Virginia Senate. Born in Petersburg, Virginia in 1972 and currently residing in Richmond, McClellan holds degrees from the University of Richmond (BA) and University of Virginia (JD).
