Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of tweets highlighting maternal and infant health issues, as well as the importance of affordable healthcare coverage.
On November 17, 2025, McClellan shared a resource with her followers: “Read the latest @MarchofDimes Report Card here: https://t.co/pObj0BNSeN”.
The following day, she spoke about her personal experience with preterm birth and called for improvements in birth outcomes across the country. On November 18, 2025, she wrote: “My daughter Samantha was born nine weeks early. We both almost died. Preterm birth is preventable, but the US has a 10.4% preterm birth rate. We can do better! This #PrematurityAwarenessDay, I’m fighting to improve birth outcomes for all Americans. https://t.co/QsheDmbI1M”.
Later that same day, McClellan referenced an individual from Richmond while discussing healthcare access under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). She stated: “Lester Johnson is many things: a husband, father, Richmond small business owner — and one of millions who would struggle to keep his health insurance without enhanced premium tax credits under the Affordable Care Act. I shared Lester’s story last night as I anchored https://t.co/3Yi1gdqyJ3”.
