University of Richmond women’s basketball player Maggie Doogan was named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Third Team, the organization announced on Apr. 15.
The recognition highlights both athletic and academic achievements among student-athletes across NCAA Division I programs. Doogan is one of only 15 student-athletes selected for this honor, reflecting her strong grade-point average while pursuing degrees in business administration and leadership studies.
During the 2025-26 season, Doogan led Richmond with averages of 21.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per game over 34 starts. She posted shooting percentages of 50.6 percent from the field, 40.4 percent from three-point range, and made nearly nine out of ten free throws attempted. Her season included a record-setting performance with a program and Atlantic 10 single-game scoring record of 48 points against Davidson on Jan. 10.
Doogan’s contributions helped guide the Spiders to a record of 26-8 and their third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, including back-to-back at-large bids. In addition to her latest honor, she received postseason recognition as Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, USBWA All-America Honorable Mention, USA Today Sports All-America Honorable Mention, and was a WBCA All-America finalist.
Over her career at Richmond, Doogan accumulated totals of 2,138 points and 871 rebounds in 129 games—placing her among the program’s all-time leaders in scoring.
According to CSC guidelines, its Academic All-America program recognizes student-athletes for combined athletic and academic accomplishments; this year’s Division I team had an average grade-point average of 3.73. Doogan is now the first women’s basketball player from Richmond to earn Academic All-America honors.
