Mark Earley, a Republican elected to the Virginia State House in 2024 representing the 73rd district, has posted several comments on social media addressing recent political developments and policy issues.

On February 2, 2026, Earley expressed criticism of a proposed tax increase, stating: “Stop complaining they say, it’s just a little tax increase.”

Later that day, he added another comment: “It was never actually about affordability.” The post did not specify what policy or issue was being referenced.

On February 3, 2026, Earley commented on legislative processes in Virginia with a reference to recent political history: “It’s just bare-knuckle politics. This is literally the sort of backroom dealing that Virginians specifically voted against when we passed the anti-gerrymandering amendment.”

Earley succeeded Rodney Willett as representative for Virginia’s 73rd House district following his election in 2024.
