Mike Cherry, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates representing Chesterfield and Colonial Heights, shared reflections on service and gratitude for veterans in a series of posts on November 11, 2025.

In his first post, Cherry emphasized the importance of prioritizing service in both his military and legislative roles. On November 11, he wrote: “Service above self” is a lesson I always try to keep in mind, whether in the Air Force or at the State Capitol as I serve Chesterfield and Colonial Heights in the House of Delegates.

Later that day, Cherry expressed appreciation to students after visiting Lakeview Elementary School. In his November 11 message, he stated: Thank you to the students at Lakeview Elementary for allowing me to speak with you this morning about my time in the @usairforce and the importance of service to our country.

Cherry also used Veterans Day to recognize those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. In a third post on November 11, he wrote: Today across our Commonwealth, we honor the men and women who left their families and homes to serve our great nation in the Armed Forces. To veterans everywhere, thank you.

Cherry’s remarks reflect his background as an Air Force veteran and current legislator serving Virginia’s House District encompassing Chesterfield and Colonial Heights.
