Mike Cherry, a political candidate and volunteer police chaplain, shared several updates on his campaign via Twitter on August 14 and 15, 2025. His posts highlighted his support for law enforcement, recent campaign events, and the momentum of his campaign team.

On August 14, Cherry emphasized his ongoing commitment to supporting law enforcement officers. He wrote, “As a volunteer police chaplain, I see the dedication of our law enforcement officers every day. In Richmond, I will always #BackTheBlue. Thank you to the @VAPBA for your endorsement of our campaign.”

Later that same day, Cherry referenced encounters at campaign events in a lighter post: “It’s a two Wendell Thursday!! Saw @WendellWalkerVA at lunchtime and Wendell the Dog at a happy hour fundraiser for my campaign. Think we’re going to need dogs at all future campaign events now. “

In an early morning tweet on August 15, Cherry rallied supporters with a succinct message: “It’s all hands on deck! Let’s go win!”

Cherry’s role as a volunteer police chaplain provides him with direct experience alongside law enforcement personnel—a point he referenced while expressing gratitude for an endorsement from the Virginia Police Benevolent Association (VAPBA). The VAPBA is known for endorsing candidates who demonstrate support for public safety professionals across Virginia.
