City offices in Richmond will be closed on Tuesday, November 4, in observance of Election Day. The closure affects City Hall and other city offices, which will resume regular business hours on Wednesday, November 5.

Trash collection and bulk and brush collection services will not operate on Election Day. All collections scheduled for that week will be delayed by one day, with Tuesday pickups moving to Wednesday and continuing through Friday.

The East Richmond Road Convenience Center Landfill at 3800 East Richmond Road will also be closed on Election Day and reopen the following day. Recycling services, however, are expected to continue as usual.

All branches of the Richmond Public Libraries will close on November 4 and reopen the next day. The Main Library will remain open only as a polling location.

RVA311 customer service will not be available by phone or in person during the holiday. Residents can still access self-service options online at RVA311.com or through the mobile app.

Richmond Public Schools are closed both Monday, November 3, and Tuesday, November 4. Schools and their administrative offices plan to reopen on Wednesday.

Parks and Recreation offices along with community centers will not offer recreational activities on Election Day; some locations may serve as polling places.

The Department of Public Utilities Call Center is also closed for the holiday. Customers facing utility emergencies should call 804-646-4646 and select Option 1; for gas leaks, residents are advised to leave the area immediately and call 911.

Richmond Animal Care and Control facilities are closed on November 4 but will return to normal walk-in hours the next day.

Residents planning to vote can find their polling place information as well as ballot details by visiting the Virginia Department of Elections website: https://www.elections.virginia.gov/.
