Richmond Public Schools has announced a policy to provide free meals to all students through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. The policy is available for review at each school and the central school nutrition office.

All schools in the division will participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which is part of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Under this provision, every student at participating schools will receive breakfast and lunch each day at no cost to their household. There is no requirement for households to submit meal application forms. Each household will be sent a letter with program details and contact information for questions.

Questions about the program can be directed to Shannon Ebron, School Nutrition Services Director, by phone at (804) 780-8216 or email at schoolnutrition@rvaschools.net.

Program information may be provided in languages other than English. Individuals with disabilities who need alternative communication methods should contact either the local agency administering the program or USDA’s TARGET Center at (202)720-2600 (voice and TTY), or use the Federal Relay Service at (800)877-8339.

To file a discrimination complaint related to this program, individuals should complete Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form. This form can be obtained online, from any USDA office, by calling (866)632-9992, or by writing a letter that includes name, address, telephone number, and a description of the alleged discriminatory action. Complaints can be submitted by mail to U.S. Department of Agriculture Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at 1400 Independence Ave., SW Washington, D.C. 20250-9410; by fax to (833)256-1665 or (202)690-7442; or by email to program.intake@usda.gov.
