The Atlantic 10 Conference announced on Apr. 29 that the Richmond Spiders women’s lacrosse team received three major postseason awards and placed seven student-athletes on All-Atlantic 10 teams.
These recognitions highlight the team’s performance during the regular season, reflecting both individual excellence and overall team achievement in conference play.
Alexis Morton was named Offensive Player of the Year, Abby Francioli earned Goalkeeper of the Year honors, and Anne Harrington was selected as Coach of the Year. Morton, CC Jacobs, and Francioli were named to the First Team All-Atlantic 10. Five players—Bridget Lonsinger, Emma Kroneberger, Rileigh Meyer, Reagan Quinn, and Mia Valerio—earned Second Team honors. Grace Hallahan was selected for the All-Rookie Team while Meyer also made the All-Academic Team.
Morton led Richmond in scoring with an average of six points per game during regular season play. She totaled 96 points from 56 goals and 40 assists and recorded a season-high eleven points in a win over VCU. Francioli anchored a defense that allowed just over eight goals per game with a .483 save percentage across thirteen wins this season. Harrington guided Richmond to a perfect conference record (9-0) for their first outright regular-season championship since program inception in 1983; under her leadership, Richmond ranks among national leaders in several statistical categories including scoring margin and draw control percentage.
Other notable performances include Jacobs starting every game without receiving any cards while helping anchor one of the nation’s top defenses; Lonsinger ranking third on the team in points; Kroneberger contributing fourteen goals across all games played; Meyer earning recognition for both athletic and academic achievements; Quinn contributing to defensive rankings with ground balls and turnovers caused; Valerio leading with nineteen caused turnovers as a defender; Hallahan making significant contributions as a freshman defender.
Looking ahead, these awards underscore Richmond’s strong position within collegiate women’s lacrosse as they prepare for postseason competition.
