Richmond concluded its 2025-26 women’s golf season with an 11th-place finish at the NCAA Regionals in Chapel Hill on May 13, matching the program’s best result in any of its previous five NCAA Regionals appearances. The team posted a score of 298 (+18) in the third round, finishing at 62-over par (902), ahead of Howard on the 12-team leaderboard.

This performance equals Richmond’s previous best finish at last year’s NCAA Regional in Charlottesville and marks its second lowest team score ever at an NCAA Regional. The only lower total was a 48-over (912) recorded at the Tallahassee Regional in 2018.

“I’m so proud of this group of young women,” said Spiders coach Calle Barlow.

Wednesday also marked the final collegiate round for seniors Hannah Lydic and Olivia Wilkie. Wilkie registered a team-best round with a score of three-over-par (73), while Lydic shot four-over-par (74). “I am so grateful to have coached Hannah and Olivia,” continued Barlow. “No words can describe what they have meant to this program. They have had such a positive impact on everyone they have encountered at Richmond! They are both great golfers but even more amazing people!”

Lydic finished tied for 37th individually at eleven-over-par (221). Reflecting on her time with Richmond, she said, “I have grown so much over the last four years. I learned about myself and continued to develop, keeping an empty cup along the way. I have been blessed with such a great team that pushes me to be the best golfer, student and person I can be. I am going to miss Richmond and every aspect of Spider Athletics. Six-year-old me had a dream of being a collegiate golfer. But I never imagined what an amazing experience playing for Richmond would be, alongside Liv and Coach Calle, for all four years.” Wilkie finished her career with Richmond by moving up three spots on Wednesday’s leaderboard to place sixtieth overall.

Wilkie said after her final round, “Richmond has shaped me into the person I am. I’ve learned so very much from Calle, my teammates, my professors, my friends, and the incredible support staff at Richmond. It’s been an incredible journey, and I seriously wouldn’t trade this experience for the world. Richmond will always have a very special place in my heart, and I really can’t wait to come back and visit already.” Junior Maya Beasley shot five-over-par (75) Wednesday to tie for fifty-fifth place alongside freshman Addie Doroh.

Katie Magner rounded out scoring for Richmond with six-over-par (76) in Round Three to secure fifty-ninth place individually.
