CHAMBER RVA (GREATER RICHMOND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE): Back to Back: Virginia is Recognized as America’s Top State for Business

Top

Chamber RVA (Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce) issued the following announcement on July 14

CNBC’s annual study once again puts all 50 states to the test, measuring them on more than 85 different metrics in 10 key categories of competitiveness. Virginia has captured top honors five times — more than any other state — and is the first state to notch back-to-back wins.

“CNBC’s naming of Virginia as the best state for business for the second time confirms pro-business policies, a highly educated workforce, a focus on equity and inclusion, transportation infrastructure, the Virginia Port, and our natural assets like geographic location – all combined create an environment for business success,” said Brian Anderson, President & CEO, ChamberRVA. “As the Capitol Region, we are seeing the fruits of these recognitions and rankings in more businesses and people choosing our region to invest in and live in.”

Virginia pulls off the repeat performance despite a vastly altered competitive landscape, a testament to the resilience of the state’s business climate. Going into the pandemic and coming out of it, Virginia’s greatest strength has been its ability to nurture and retain talent.
