VUU Tennis Sweeps Elizabeth City State

Box Score 1 Virginia Union University's women's tennis team swept Elizabeth City State University 4-1 and 4-2 on Saturday, April 16, in Elizabeth City, N.C.

VUU's Jordan Parker won at #2 singles 8-5 while Jade Sawyer won at #3 singles 8-0.

In the second match, Sawyer won at #3 singles 8-0 and Marissa Joseph won at #4 singles 8-0.

"The girls played outstanding at the doubleheader against Elizabeth City," said VUU Head Tennis Coach Brittany Uzzell.  "The girls and I had a great talk before the matches and I think it fired them up.  I won't say what we talked about, but I know the girls played their hearts out, out of love, and I'm so proud of them."

Virginia Union will now travel to Petersburg, Va., to face Virginia State University at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22.
