The 2022 University of Richmond football season is right around the corner and plenty of fun is in store for fans this fall at Robins Stadium. Our 24th-ranked Spider football team is excited to welcome our fans back to Robins Stadium beginning Saturday, September 10th against Saint Francis at 5:30 PM.
The Spider football team enters the season with high aspirations! Richmond has multiple student-athletes receiving national preseason accolades. Junior linebacker Tristan Wheeler and graduate wide receiver Jakob Herres have been named preseason All-America. Wheeler, Herres and quarterback Reece Udinski have been named preseason national player of the year candidates on their respective sides of the ball. The Spiders were picked fourth in the highly competitive CAA preseason poll and will be looking to return to the postseason this fall.
The Spiders will have five games at Robins Stadium this season with games broadcasted regionally on either NBC Sports Washington or MASN. You can also catch every game streamed live on Flo Football.
New for this season, Robins Stadium will have a state-of-the-art sound system which replaces Robins Stadium's original sound system that was installed in 2010. Additionally, fans will be able to enjoy the first full season with our state-of-the-art full LED video board. The new board encompasses high-definition video throughout the entire board, measuring 60 feet wide and almost 28 feet tall.
