Richmond Breathe Free Sinus & Allergy Centers is encouraging anyone suffering from sinusitis to take a self-assessment quiz to determine how the condition is impacting their quality of life.
The Sinus Self-Assessment Quiz enables you to rate symptoms you experience that could be related to sinusitis and receive a variety of treatment options, depending on the severity of your issue. Some of the symptoms are directly associated with the sinuses, such as congestion and experiencing nasal drainage, while other symptoms may seem more mental or psychological, such as fatigue or lack of ability to concentrate.
“My practice philosophy is to help people to breathe free,” Dr. John Ditto told the Richmond Leader. “I've had patients over the years tell me I used to have four to five recurrent sinus infections per year. Now they're down to maybe one, maybe two, and it's something that they can manage with with an antibiotic. For those with chronic sinusitis, they've had improved facial pressure, pain and less recurrent infections as well.”
Ditto is a board-certified physician who specializes in disorders of the ear, nose and throat (ENT). He has worked in Richmond for almost 20 years and is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, as well as the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. Ditto earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine, where he was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award in medical school and was also awarded a scholarship for his research from the Student National Medical Association.
In his free time, he enjoys reading, bird-watching and gardening with his wife, Holly. He is also passionate about music and plays cello in the Virginia Commonwealth University medical orchestra.
