ODU'S BIG THIRD QUARTER DOOMS RAMS IN ROAD LOSS
The Rams struggled offensively in the third quarter as ODU went on a 24-6 run and turned VCU's narrow halftime lead into an insurmountable deficit.

- VCU committed just two turnovers in the first quarter and went 7-of-11 at the free throw line to build a 16-14 lead
- The second quarter was back-and-forth, with the Rams first going on a 9-4 run to take a 25-18 lead with 3:23 left before halftime. ODU went on a 7-0 run to tie the game at 25-25 before a Jennifer Ezeh layup gave the Rams a 27-25 advantage at the half
- ODU shot 73.3 percent in the third quarter to VCU's 22.2 percent while outscoring the Rams 16-5 in points off turnovers. The Monarchs outscored VCU 24-6 in the third quarter
- VCU, despite outscoring ODU in the fourth quarter, was unable to climb back into the game
