The Short Story: VCU trailed George Washington by 18 points at halftime before a furious second half rally got the Rams within 61-59 with 1:36 to play. The Colonials scored layups on their next two possessions and held off VCU.

- VCU trailed George Washington 39-21 at halftime
- The Rams opened the third quarter on a 16-5 run that included five points from Grace Huston to cut the deficit to 44-37
- The Colonials outscored VCU to end the quarter and held a 53-42 lead heading into the fourth
