Jennifer McClellan, who has been representing Virginia’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, articulated her perspectives on critical national issues through social media recently. In a series of tweets, Congresswoman McClellan disclosed her concerns regarding governmental policy decisions and advocacy for women's rights within the African American community.
On April 2, 2025, McClellan addressed a significant policy decision by RFK Jr., stating, "Last week, RFK Jr. announced plans to cut nearly one quarter of the Department of Health and Human Services workforce. His actions threaten scientific research, impede disease control, and make it more difficult for families to navigate their health care coverage."
Later that day, McClellan shared her concerns regarding national security, remarking, “Signalgate” is worse than we thought. The Trump Administration’s top national security officials show a pattern of reckless and careless behavior that puts our servicemembers and the American people in danger."
On April 3, 2025, McClellan turned her attention to advocacy for African-American women, tweeting, "Since 1935, @NCNWHQ has advocated for and empowered women of African descent, their families, and communities. Today, I joined President @shavonarline for a fireside chat at their Power Policy Summit to discuss our shared priorities and how to fight back against the Trump."
