Virginia Union University Athletics issued the following announcement on Feb. 19

Virginia Union University's Taniah Johnson hit a three-pointer as time expired to give the Lady Panthers a 65-63 win over Shaw University in the regular-season finale of the 2021-22 season on Saturday, February 19, in Raleigh, N.C.

VUU's Darryn Zeigler hit five three pointers in the first half in the win.

"Shaw came out and played tough this game," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Tierra Terry.  "We came together as a team to secure this win. We had four players in double digits, Darryn Zeigler hit five three's, we had 12 assists, 10 steals and of course Taniah Johnson came up big with an exhilarating buzzer beater! This was a great road win and gives us great momentum going into the CIAA tournament."
