On January 29, 2025, Congresswoman McClellan tweeted about the challenges faced by housing advocates due to Trump's federal funding freeze. She stated: "Trump’s federal funding freeze left housing advocates scrambling for answers about housing vouchers, homeless/rental assistance, and more." McClellan further criticized the administration's assurances that aid directly provided to individuals is not at risk, suggesting that such claims offer little reassurance.
