Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, representing Virginia's 4th District, has recently voiced her concerns on various political issues via her social media platform. McClellan, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2023 following a period in the Virginia legislature, shared her views on topics ranging from Medicaid cuts to election integrity measures.
On March 26, 2025, McClellan expressed her concerns about the implications of the Republican budget plan on healthcare for Virginians. She stated, "Republicans claim their budget plan doesn’t mention Medicaid, but the Congressional Budget Office says they can’t meet their goals without stripping away over 630,000 Virginians’ health care. That’s why I sounded the alarm on the impact Medicaid cuts will have on Virginia."
On the following day, March 27, 2025, McClellan spoke on the recent "election integrity" measures enacted by an executive order from former President Donald Trump. She highlighted that, “Trump’s executive order on ‘election integrity’ requires documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. But, with the exception of military IDs, the only permissible documents cost money: A U.S. passport, A REAL ID, A federal/state.”
Later that day, she commented on actions of the House Republicans and her own party's response. She stated, “While House Republicans hide from their constituents, @HouseDemocrats are listening to and amplifying our constituents’ concerns about the chaos unleashed by the Trump Administration and Elon Musk. I shared with @NewsNation what I’m hearing.”
