On April 18, 2025, Congresswoman McClellan expressed her perplexity over her Republican colleagues' decisions, stating, "I’m glad to see my Republican colleagues vocally support Medicaid, but I am perplexed by their votes to advance a budget plan that the Congressional Budget Office says will require devastating Medicaid cuts." She highlighted the potential impact of these decisions on vulnerable populations and shared additional information through a link in a subsequent post.

Additionally, in a separate post on the same day, McClellan criticized the Trump Administration’s actions regarding immigration enforcement, stating, "I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. The Trump Administration tramples it by deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia to an El Salvadoran prison with no due process, defying a unanimous SCOTUS order to facilitate his return." Her remarks underline her commitment to due process and constitutional fidelity.
