Book Break with Ran Walker | A Burst of Gray on March 1

3

Library of Virginia recently issued the following announcement.

Press pause during the mid-week rush to join a local author at the Library of Virginia for a book talk, casual conversation, and book signing. Presented by the partnership between the Virginia Shop and James River Writers, the Book Break series offers the opportunity to connect book lovers to new titles and local authors. Reading the book beforehand is encouraged, but never required—just bring your curiosity and a desire to meet new people.

In A Burst of Gray, author Ran Walker explores an imaginary world where only the people who see in color find their true soulmate. Forty-year-old Slate sees the world in gray, although his parents saw the world in color and were soulmates. Slate’s world becomes completely upended when by freak accident, he meets his own soulmate.

Walker is the author of 24 books, including short stories, flash fiction, micro fiction and poetry. His work has appeared in numerous anthologies and journals and has received numerous awards and distinctions. Walker is an assistant professor of English and creative writing at Hampton University and teaches with Writer’s Digest University.
